Benefits of Eating Grapes

Grapes are available in three varieties, Purple, Green and Red and all of them are delicious. Grapes are widely used in making jams, jellies, raisins and even wine. As per one of the estimate, the grapes were first cultivated in 6000 BC. The annual consumption of this berry is about 72 Million tons and the grapes vary in texture, flavor, and verities. A lot of people are not aware of the health benefits that comes with the grapes so let us look at some of the health benefits that comes with the grapes.

Reduces the Risk of Heart Diseases
Grape contains flavonoid quercetin and that decreases the risk of damage caused by LDL cholesterol. This has been proved by many studies as the component is believed to have anti-inflammatory property. This also helps in keeping the blood pressure under control which in turn, protects kidneys and brain against any damage that can be caused by the high blood pressure. The grape also contains potassium and it is a known fact that potassium reduces the risk of death caused by heart diseases and at the same time, it also reduces the risk of strokes.

Beneficial in some Allergies
No research has been conducted on this but it is believed that consuming grapes is quite beneficial when it comes to allergies because the grape has anti-inflammatory properties which actually relieve the symptoms of the allergies like a runny nose and watery eyes. You should consider doctor in case of any allergy but having grapes can help you temporarily in relieving the symptoms.

Prevents Acne
As per one of the research, it is also believed that the red grapes can also be beneficial for the skin as a compound called resveratrol help in treating acne. This is more effective when it is combined with additional medicines but unfortunately, the compound is only found in red wines made with red grapes.

Helps Relieving Constipation
Grapes are high in fiber and water content and thus, they keep the body hydrated. In such a case, the grape helps the bowel movement because of the fiber and the water and thus it helps in reducing constipation to a great extent. If you ever feel constipated, have some grapes and that will do wonders.
Reduces the risk of Diabetes
A research was conducted in 2013 and it was concluded that the people who consume grapes are less prone to suffering from diabetes. As per the study, the grape reduces the risk of diabetes by at least 7% and hence if your parents have a history of diabetes, you should consume grapes from an early age itself.

Reduces the Risk of Cancer
This is the most important thing in our list, the grapes lower the risk of cancer as they consist of high amount of anti-oxidants. The anti-oxidant present in grape is Polyphenols and they help in preventing mouth, lung, endometrial, pancreatic, colon and prostate cancer. This has been proven by research as well that having grapes can reduce the risk of cancer significantly.
So from now onwards, you can include grape in your diet if you haven’t already done it. It is surely one of the super food which can help you in dealing with many health conditions.
